(THE BOYZ) Poster Maps for Black Water

An overturned ferry lies wedged between two apartment blocks, and the surviving members of THE BOYZ use its dark banquet hall as a night shelter while ash drifts over the harbor. Two fan club members keep the place running: a Black woman who rigs rain catchers from cracked light sticks and stage tarps, and a white woman who patrols the tide flats for shellfish with a homemade spear. When a fever tears through the shelter and the only clean water drum is stolen by a rival camp, the idols and the two women must drag a rusted sound cart across a bridge lined with tripwire bells to reach a fog-choked desalination plant. At the same time, two members of THE BOYZ can no longer hide the way they choose each other first in every panic, and when the bridge winches snap at sunset, the group must decide who crosses for water and who stays behind to hold off the crowd.
