I Reserved Your Attention

A 40-second mini-drama designed for Spanish-language performance unfolds through an anniversary couple’s attempted toast: at home they rehearse it over a confirmed booking, beneath an AI recommendation promising an intimate restaurant ideal for quiet conversation. At the restaurant, their first words disappear beneath the lively celebration’s accordion, and a server cheerfully explains that the next dance starts in thirty seconds before offering to keep their order on hold. They try leaning across the little candle, then exchanging handwritten lines on a bread basket liner, until one partner writes, “I married you for your conversation,” and the other slides back, “Excellent choice of restaurant, then.” With the band counting down to its next number, the phone lights up beside their unfinished toast—“Booking completed. Was this recommendation helpful?”—and the server waits, pen poised, for their order.
